Shared Ministry (Volunteer Opportunities)

• Children/Family Ministry Visioning Committee
  Meet 3-4 times a year to do long range planning for ministries to children, youth and families. Evaluate current opportunities and make recommendations for other opportunities. Assist in carrying out family activities.

• Adult Faith Formation Committee
  This team of parish leaders has a serious influence in the formation of topics in adult faith development, along with the implementation of adult events at St. Margaret Mary. We meet 10 months out of the year to imagine, plan, execute and assess our events for adults.

• Adult to Adults Catechist
  We believe that  some adults at SMM carry the gifts to lead and guide other adults on the journey to deeper faith. We offer small and large opportunities for adults to catechize other adults.

• Sunday Morning Liturgy of the Word for Children Leader
  Meet with pre-school or primary grade children one Sunday each month to talk about the Gospel at their level and lead a prayer and activity during the Liturgy of the Word time on Sunday at the 10:00 a.m. Mass

• Sunday Morning Nursery Assistant
  Help establish a playful and inviting environment for toddlers and pre-school students to be occupied during one of the Sunday Masses each month. Greet parents, supervise and interact with children, with one other adult during one Sunday Mass each month.
    
• Wednesday Night Youth Faith Formation Small Group Leader
  Collaborate with the coordinator and other leaders in lesson and activity planning three times each year. Meet with a group of 6 - 8 middle school or high school youth the first three Wednesday nights of each month from October to April (90 minute sessions).
   
• Wednesday Night Catechist
  Participate in catechist in-service. Prepare lessons and present them to the young people each week
   
• Wednesday Night Assistant Catechist
  Assist catechist in presenting lessons and carrying out activities. At times work one to one with a student. Be a substitute when catechist isn’t able to be there. Possibly make a presentation on a topic.
   
• Substitute Catechist
  Be on call to teach a lesson on Wednesday evening Faith Formation.
   
• RCIA Sponsor
  Be part of a team to support a person desiring to come into the Catholic Church. Participate in weekly sessions.
   
• Faith Festival Hospitality Minister
  Help prepare and serve a meal at the Faith Festival.
