Social Shared Ministry Opportunities

Shared Ministry is the calling forth of all parishioners to share their time, talent and treasure. We are called through Baptism to use the talents we have been blessed with to strengthen our parish community. However we choose to contribute, our actions help to create the community of the Church of St. Margaret Mary. No amount of service is too small. One person can really make a difference!

• BeFrienders
  Be a companion on the journey through listening, presence and compassion at times of special need. On-going supervision.
   
• Dinner At Your Door
  Pick up hot meals at North Memorial or Calvary Lutheran Church and deliver them. This takes about an hour on the first Friday and third Monday of the month.
   
• First Friday Breakfast
   
• Food Shelf Delivery
  People are needed to bring the donations of food and household supplies from our church building to PRISM and at times to Sharing & Caring Hands.
   
• Loaves & Fishes
  On the third Thursday of each month, parishioners prepare and serve a meal at St. Stephen's parish from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. We need telephone recruiters, cooks, drivers and servers.
   
• Ministry to Homebound
  Parishioners bring Eucharist to the homebound on Sunday mornings. This ministry requires about two hours every two weeks.
   
• Ministry to Hospitals
  Parishioners bring Eucharist to those in the hospital on Tuesdays. This ministry requires about two hours every four weeks.
   
• Parishioner Transport
  Drivers are needed to pick up and assist parish members who wish to attend weekend Masses, Anointing of the Sick, or other church functions. On occasion, someone may need a ride to the doctor, grocery store, etc.
   
• PRISM (People Responding in Social Ministry)
  PRISM accepts donations of food and clothing. Volunteers are needed for a variety of tasks. Please call 763-529-1350 if you are interested in volunteer opportunities at PRISM.
   
• Sharing & Caring Hands
  Three or four times a year, volunteers from St. Margaret Mary prepare and serve a meal at Sharing & Caring Hands.
   
• Volunteer at Trevilla of Robbinsdale
  Each Saturday, a Communion Service is conducted at the Care Center at 10:30 AM. People are needed to transport residents to and from their rooms to the Common Room. We also participate in the service by leading the singing and joining in the prayers. This ministry requires two hours on a Saturday.
