Leadership

The leadership group in the parish of St. Margaret Mary is called the Council for Mission & Ministry. Rather than calling this advisory group the parish council , it is important to identify the council with the proper understanding of its role. Too often parish advisory groups see themselves as representative government – sort of like a church version of a city council.

The Council for Mission & Ministry has as its primary focus our mission – how do we faithfully live out who we say we are in that statement that we read on the cover of every Sunday bulletin? To be people on a mission, Jesus' mission, we are to call forth the baptismal gifts of every parishioner. This empowerment for ministry within the parish and extending to the larger community is essential to the work of the Council and its commissions.
